Get to Know Me…

 

Hello and Welcome to First Belle!  In addition to running things here, I am a 5th grade teacher, mom to my (almost) 2 year old daughter,Belle, and wife of a local firefighter.

So…Why the Name?

First Belle came about because my first love (teaching) and my NEW love (my daughter) collided in what I like to call the “Monumental Shift.”  (Akin to the Big Bang.)  As a new mom, I was struggling to find the work-mom balance.  It was my FIRST time being a mom, and BELLE played into the school theme so well!  So, First Belle was born!  Teachers give 100% of their working minds and bodies to their job, so having to split that up was difficult for me.  As I learned and became more efficient at home and at school, I decided that I should document and share what I was experiencing/creating with other new “TeacherMoms!”

I have recently expanded and developed a section entirely devoted to New Teachers, and plan to continue to develop resources to help new teachers AND new teacher-moms as we go through this journey together!

Being a working mom is not easy.  I want to help you maximize your time both in the classroom and at home so that the time spent with your family is MEANINGFUL time!    That is what counts the most!
